Volunteer Roles:
Our volunteers work in a variety of roles that are designated as Direct Care and/or Indirect Care. Please indicate which areas of volunteering interest you.
Volunteers working directly with clients/families. (ie: Vigil support, 1:1 grief support, hospital visiting team)
Volunteers who support Hospice without working directly with clients/families. (ie: fundraising, community awareness, special events)
Volunteers who would like to be involved in various aspects of hospice, or as their time permits

Complete the online volunteer application and submit.
*Please note that you must be a permanent resident of Salt Spring Island to volunteer with us.

We recommend that you attend our info session to ensure it's the right fit for you.

An interview with two of our training committee members will be scheduled.

Following the interview, you will be contacted regarding your acceptance into the training.

Once you've been accepted, a Criminal Record Check is required. We will send you a request through CRC to complete.

Once we receive your CRC and everything is in order, the registration fee of $150.00 is due two weeks before the first session, which covers facilitator fees and a Volunteer Handbook
